Description This is a tradition art version of AtomicGreymon's vector entitled "Pinkie Pie". Obviously I have asked his permission and he has allowed me to publish this.

This is just Pinkie Pie being adorable. This picture took much longer than I expected, roughly 3/4 hours of my afternoon were dedicated to this. The head was redone twice, the eyes thrice, the ears thrice, the body thrice, and the mane was redone too many times for me to remember. Whilst working from a referance the head's angle threw me off complelely. Also in one of my previous pictures I was told that redoing the outline after the colouring is done is a good idea, so i tried it. As always feel free to give feedback, whether it's what I done well or what I could improve on - inparticular if the more defined outlines are better or not.

Edit: O no the leg, it's ruined!

Well I do EVERYTHING in 2H first. That way when I erase it it leaves virtually no visible mark. Only once I'm sure that the picture is perfect do I then go over the outlines in 2B. Trust me when I say that hard pencils are a God sent.

Well I haven't touched a mechanical pencil once in my life, I think that they're more for Engineering drawings, you know when you take a point on a page and then work from that point to build up an image of a building or such.

Sketching pencils come in a range from 6B-6H. How 6B is softer and 6H harder. B pencils are used for shading and thick black outlines. I'm not sure what purpose H pencils server but I use them to roughly sketch out everything, as they produce a much softer line, markings from a H pencil rub off with ease.

And you shouldn't be asking if it's a problem, art is about personal choice. Honest I'm not the best person in terms of teaching, ask your art department what the difference is and I'm sure that they'll explain it ALOT better than me.

Gosh that was long, well I hope that it helps.
