Dont wanna spoil the beans here, but Zato-1 was created far earlier than the Fate series almost 8y faster to be precise

Hes a Spanish assassin(the body) called Zato-1, or he was. He did take in a symbiotic organism called Eddie(the shadow) in exchange for his sigh. For that he did gain the ability to freely control the shadow, changing it in one of the most deadly weapon that helped him become the leader of the assassin group he was in. However, as his body weakened, Eddie was able to take control until Zato-1's death at the hands of Millia Rage.
