Carla was filled with regret.

Well, she was mostly filled with carbonation. But also regret.

When someone at a soda factory said, "free samples", what you expected were samples. Little paper cups with just enough drink to taste. You didn't expect a tube.

Okay, maybe it had been... naive of her to actually take the tube, but you couldn't rightfully expect a robotic contraption to come out of nowhere and start pumping soda in to your face while all nearby employees fled.

Carla had been trapped by the tube attached to her face while gallons of soda surged down her throat. Her stomach had ballooned, stretching in ways she thought impossible. It had become too heavy to stand, toppling her forward with the sudden weight. And it had kept going. After a few minutes of the high-pressure gushing, she found herself balanced on top of a wobbling, burbling mass. Once she was marooned, the tube had detached and

She could feel the bubbles of gas moving around in her stomach, triggering earthshaking cramps. She needed to get help...

Well. She needed to get up, first.
