Description
I commissioned JamesmanTheRegenold to draw my character Ruby, but he gave me the line art, so I decided to color it myself.I really do like it. He made Ruby look absolutely adorable! Those fifteen bucks were pretty well spent. My only real issue is that she does look a little bigger than I asked for, but eh, I'll chalk that up to differing art styles. She still looks very cute.
I have to say shading her hair is the most fun part of drawing her. I love making it look shiny. She must go through a lot of work in the morning trying to make it look good.

I appreciate the fact that she's plump female character, without going to much to one side. She's what I think of when you say BBW, a phrase that's been thrown out the window on this site. What I mean by that is that she's not too big, but not too small. Honestly, when it comes to larger female characters, it's either all or nothing. I hate it when a character's supposedly "chubby", but visually they look no different from anyone other character.(Anime's really good at that) Then they apparently have weight problems and insecurities, but they still look normal! And on the other side of the spectrum, they make her way TOO plump, until she's undoubtedly obese or even just a big blob. I mean, I won't lie, I have fetishes for stuff like that too, I'm into it, but when I search up "BBW" on deviantart, I don't like it when the first images I see are women who are unrealistically enormous. I get it fetish artists, it's what you're into, but don't associate the term BBW with it cuz there's only so big a woman can get before I get grossed out.
But Ruby here? She is spot on. Noticeably plump and full figured, but realistically proportioned. Just the thing I look for when I search BBW. I applaud you for that, her character design is one of my favorites that I've seen on this site. And considering the SHEER AMOUNT of oc's on here, that statement stands for itself.

I mean, I really can't take all the credit here. I came up with Ruby's concept. A tall, plump, cheerful redhead girl that wasn't too chubby but reasonably heavy. The problem is, at the time of her conception, I was unable to draw heavyset people in general. So, I phoned a friend (BluePaintSea if you're curious) and he helped me figure out the fine tuning of her design.
Eventually I released her design to the public because I didn't want her to grab the attention of said people with BBW fetishes because I don't want her to be seen that way. Sadly... it did get that unwanted attention that I was trying to avoid.

Let's be honest, this is the internet, so that's gonna be unavoidable. But hey, I'm sure there are guys like me somewhere on here that are thankful that you focused on making her more wholesome then just fetish fuel
Also, I know who Blue Paint Sea is, that's how I found out about Ruby in the first place.

Just because it's the internet and it's unavoidable doesn't make it okay. I'm glad you appreciate the value of a character who has realistic proportions, but I intend to actually do things with my characters and make a name for myself out there. That means each one has a deeper story than just what they look like.
