Description This was a pretty tough drawing, but it came out alright. ^^ Usually I don’t attempt group poses, let alone ones that are this complex…it’s good to know that the old noggin is still up to the occasional challenge.

So…I’d like to take this opportunity to discuss the relationship between Magolor and his ‘angels’. Are they like his pets; his children? A little of both, I think…and from the other side (what each of them thinks of him) things get even more complicated, especially for Marx. It’s tough being the oldest…

From a scientific standpoint, though, there are some more serious stakes involved…at some point, Magolor probably had to have ‘the talk’ with all of them about what they are and how they’re connected to him.

The biggest revelation: they aren’t actually fully autonomous beings. Like the Lor Starcutter, they are all animated through Mags’ magic power. So if he were to die, or purposely cut them off from his power (this version of Magolor would never do that to punish them, but the implication remains) they would immediately stop living. At best, they’d just collapse; at worst, they might cease to exist (a big possibility for Morpho, given his weird origins).
This isn’t on purpose; it’s just because poor Mags doesn’t really know what he’s doing yet. ^^’ There’s only so much you can learn about mechanics and technology in just a few short years without any formal education (not counting all the time he spends knee-deep in magic experiments that no one else has ever experienced, let alone written about).

So he relies a lot on his magic to simply force things to work, since he instinctively knows how to use it. With each angel, he does the best he can with his limited knowledge of medical science, and when all else fails he throws magic at it until it comes to life. It’s like a ‘black box’…intentions go in, and results come out, with no insight as to how or why.
As a result, he’s inadvertently made himself into a sort of battery for each of them, which actually takes a bit of a physical toll on him as well. But he considers it a fair trade.

A particularly meaningful implication here is that Magolor is the weak link in the whole setup. Eliminate him, and the entire Void Destroyer System is no more.
As I mentioned before, Void Termina already knows this, and the strategies he uses to try to get to Mags are what make that apparent to other people (like Susie…), even if they aren’t aware of his sorcery yet.

But this information isn’t particularly useful to anyone besides Void…I mean, if you do try to hurt Magolor, you will have to have the means to defend yourself against 3 fiercely loyal aliens who were created to be able to kill literal gods. ^^ One of whom (*cough* MARX *cough*) will have zero reservations about ripping your throat out if you even glance at his master the wrong way.

The only feasible way for a mortal to take advantage of this would be to get to Magolor first and kill him before his avenging angels find out, or use his life as some sort of bargaining chip. And the latter idea would be ideal…the angels are incredibly powerful weapons; one would probably prefer to repurpose them rather than destroy them outright…

…Of course, this is all just conjecture~. ^^ I’m not actually gonna do anything with these ideas…as far as I know, at present…
