My art part of an art trade with SaMelodii I'm so sorry for literally being a month late! ;o; I wasn't motivated to finish this because there's something about the drawing that keeps bothering me aaa i'm sorryyyy
It was going to be a completely different drawing, but after my trip to Mar del Plata where there were a lot of Italian ice cream shops, I saw canolis and I definitely wanted to draw Romano and Malta eating some of those! I didn't try them bc I wasn't hungry at the time but I bet they taste delicious! <3
The cultural connection is very vaguely represented here (I'm so sorry I realised that when I had almost finished the drawing) ;A;
It refers to the biggest cultural tie between South Italy and Malta: food. Italy as a whole has a lot of influence on Maltese cuisine, including olive oil, pasta, seafood, fresh fruits and vegetables, especially the tomato. Some of their favourite foods that they share together are:
