Fireheart telling Graystripe to stop seeing Silverstream- well, I think we all know how effective that was!I love how adult Graystripe looks, I think I need to work on a few more images of Firebutt in order to make him work right in my mind. Modified Gray's design a little to be more "canon", he now only has faint tabby markings on his shoulders and back and mostly has just the wide gradiant STRIPE OF LEGEND. xD

About Fireheart's Pelt Color
Some people have voiced concerns on other pictures of mine about Fireheart "not being orange enough", so let me take a moment to tell you that different lighting situations call for different saturations, darkness, and color tints. This is why grass at night is not bright green, for instance, or why things in darkness are often desaturated and dulled- just like Fireheart's coat here.

While this picture was darkened for drama, the characters were all given their "reference colors" for clarity's sake, so you can see them there without any lighting issues.

Sliverstream sorta got in the way of Fireheart and Graystripe's friendship. And I was upset about that sadly, And once they got in that fight, Phew...I knew it was over for a heartbeat. But, I still love the couple.Β Similar to Bluefur/Bluestar and Oakheart.Β Β Β

One of the things I love about Fireheart's design is that...I can't even really describe it, but it's like he looks more like FireHEART and less like FireSTAR. There's just something about him that lets you tell he's still a Warrior and not a leader.

I personally don't ever plan on drawing Graystripe's stripe. He didn't have it until like three serieses in, so frankly I feel like that was the Erin's later on making yet another fail with keeping designs consistent.

What program do you use, and is it free?

Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop CS5- the first one is a sort of "simpler" version of Photoshop from Japan, and not nearly as expensive as Photoshop but unfortunately not free. I'd really recommend it, it makes it easier to get the results you want, especially with regard to linework.
Annd you probably know Photoshop already. I usually just use it for color touch-ups and transparencies. xD
