I feel it's only fair to study the culture of other species before their assimilation consigns it to history.

There's also the entertainment value to be gained from doing so.

Besides the obvious practical value, it can be quite amusing to pay attention to the details of how far they've come before we uplift their entire population to the next level.

With humans, take the so called 'supernatural' for example. Is it a vague, imperfect grasp of psionics? Or something more?

We Enthasa don't believe in ghosts. Why would we? We can perceive the non-coporeal psionic matrix of anything living. Souls hold no mystery for us.

The interesting question is - are those tihngs that I see actually what the simple humans ignorantly labelled the supernatural? Or is that just an assumption, and there's yet another veil still to be lifted with even more fantastical - perhaps unknowable - phenomena beyond?

It's quite a puzzle.

I've personally watched and felt countless human minds collapse into perfect little smooth spheres of perfect, glacial emptiness. Nothing's ever been released during the process. No flighty spectre shuffling off the physical body at the last moment. No immortal essence rattling into the ether once a subject finally surrenders itself to perfection.

No ghosts given up.

Still, it's interesting to keep checking.

Perhaps I'm simply not paying close enough attention yet.
