Description Saraph is one of my OCs from an upcoming action webcomic I'm making to submit to a competition in July (I originally said June, but the time limit is July 31st.) I'll be sharing lots more information before I submit it, plus special tutorials and info for my watchers. Saraph literally means 'burning one', but the Hebrew Bible also associates it with a winged snake. As you can see, I didn't spend much time on shading this one. The shading is super light and simplistic. That's because if I'm ever going to finish this super-long episode in time, plus keep it under the 20mb limit, I've got to keep the shading to a minimum.

Saraph Profile:

Name: Tyler Mason; Ty for short.

Age: 19

Affiliation: CATO

Personality: When he's not in his suit, Ty can easily come across as shy and quiet. He rarely gives an opinion on anything and he doesn't make friends easily. He's fiercely loyal to his family, and will unhesitatingly betray anyone for the sake of saving them. He has a surprising temper that is hard to quell once he gets fired up. He's unapologetically vicious in combat and prefers revenge to forgiveness.

Position: Neutral.

CAL (CATO Agent Level, from 1-10, with 10 being the most powerful): Elite 9.

Intelligence: Medium to medium-high.

Skills/tech: Saraph's wings allow him to glide. He also has cables he can shoot out from his bracelets that allow him to extend his glide. He can only use these mid-glide or while jumping off of something. If he uses them to catch himself, he could dislocate his shoulders...which he learned by experience. Though that hasn't stopped him from doing so in dire situations. He generally fights with a pair of knives or with his fists. In fact, he's such a skilled hand-to-hand fighter that this alone earned him a high CAL. But he also has a remarkable ability to assess situations in combat and react accordingly.

Enemies: Facade, Shrill, Crosshairs, Qilinbian, Morningstar, at times Maccabeus and Crimson Tide.

Friends: Griff, Ava, Eruption, Riposte, Colony, at times Maccabeus, at times Crimson Tide.

Background: When Ty was 16, he was recruited into the youth program at the organization called CATO (Combat and Arms Technology). They turned him into a winged, technologically-based superhero with unbelievable hand-to-hand fighting skills. In the meantime, his home situation got a lot worse as his father left his family and his older brother got jumped into a gang. On Tyler's 18th birthday, a rival gang beat his brother Griff so badly that he became became a paraplegic (he couldn't walk). Tyler took his Cato-issued suit and beat up many members of the other gang, nearly killing them in the process. The whole thing was captured on television. CATO ordered a court hearing to examine his behavior. Before the hearing, CATO collapsed as an organization due to internal corruption and Ty, along with many other young trainees who were given too much power and too little oversight, was sent to a small town in the middle of nowhere for 'rehabilitation.' That rehabilitation didn't go as planned and he quickly got himself in trouble once again.

Ty does believe in doing the right thing, with a hearty dose of vengeance and self-righteousness thrown in. His primary enemy is Facade , who uses holographic technology and voice mappers to disguise his appearance and voice. Since Tyler focuses on vengeance, Facade often uses this to set him against anyone who might otherwise be his friend.
