I never watched the series but I heard about it because I think that some of the people who worked on it went on to be a part of Studio Ghibli, but donβt quote me on that. I canβt remember if itβs true or not.Β

I remember that series from the 80s, but I haven't seen all the episodes because back then, as a child, I found the series "boringly didactic", as if some teacher at school made us watch it to learn history and literature a different way
I liked other contemporary series much better, like "Ox Tales", and even better the Spanish series "Los TrotamΓΊsicos" (translated into English as something like "The Globetrotter Musicians"); a Spanish more or less direct adaptation from the Grimm Brothers tales "Die Bremen Stadtmusikanten", with new adventures and new names (in Spanish) for the characters.
But back to this lady, I must say that her outfit and look in general, and those colors, also remind me a great deal of Lady Marian from Disney's version on Robin Hood.

Hey now the story must go on-(and so on). It was a good show. Joint Japanese and Spanish (I think). A good mix of characters and pretty decent animation for an 80s kids show

well, taking in regard about 90% of the DA users here weren't even born back then, many of those weren't even in the age to watch the series on TV...
I'm already thinking on how to explain stuff like Super-8, VHS, camcorders, payphones and the latter to my future children...

Sigh.Β I'm too old.Β I just sold my 8 track player and reel to reel deck to a collector half my age, and the pbx switchboards I learned how to work on my first operator job are now being displayed in museums.Β But I still think the 1940's was the golden age of animation, and it has to be older than that to be reeeeeally old.Β (Black and white.)

I really LOVED the series in those days back, when I was little.
It is, in my opinion, still the best animated adaptation ofΒ Phileas Fogg's journey around the world. All the characters were highly likeable back then.
Gosh, I miss the good old times with an art style that had so much heartblood in it...
