After seeing Michael Dudok de Wit's fantastic animated film The Red Turtle last year, I sketched out a piece of fanart for it, only to once again leave it languishing on my hard drive until now, because a broken clock has better time management skills than I do.

The scene depicted here is this beautiful moment in the film where - keeping things spoiler-free here - the female protagonist, with the gentlest touch, reaches out and caresses the male protagonist's face, It was a gesture of grace, of absolution, of human connection at its most elemental, and it was so utterly feminine and so exquisitely animated that it sold the movie for me.
