Description
I wanted to see how the silver skin for M4 stood up against the silver iRay shader so I composed this scene to test it. The character has the M4 skin. The board and the speedo have the silver iRay shader. There's a lot of difference. I did try rendering him with the silver shader, but that was just too much. It did give me an idea for another project, but just didn't work with this one.DAZ3D 4.8, Photoshop CC 2014

I see what you mean about the speedo, the sheen is gorgeous. Did you try tweaking the glossy roughness on the skin itself to see if it improved at all?

Yeah, I guess I should have mentioned that. The test for me was to see how they compared. They were very different in the beginning...like dull pewter and mercury laying next to each other. I made adjustments to keep the look of skin, but to bring the shine and colors closer to the same shade because that is how I remember him looking. He wasn't distinctly different than his clothes or board in my memories. This is just the final result. The skin was tweaked 3 or 4 times from the original. The biggest thing that helped with the skin was turning the Metalicity up to .9. The speedo and board were tweaked once just to bring the base color down from white to light gray. The motion trail was added in PS. The whole thing looked to static and blah before I added it. I'm not great at motion trails so it still isn't the best, but it was time to move on to the one I'm working on now.
