Your blue and cold color variations for the wall set a well done, uninviting and defensive mood, combined with its spiky nature, underlining its function for me, while also seeming dangerous or potentially dangerous. This adds a storytelling element about the wall, and about the intention of the travelers. The warm structures behind it are worn, or seem worn to me, but not as cold and harsh as the wall. They seem to be a destination for the travelers, divided by the wall. Both have a nice contrast to each other, due difference in color-tones and and overall shape. The whole background underlines it more, as it is warmer than the foreground.
Your brushwork is loose but detailed where the story happens, and where details seems to be necessary.
