“Tank”, the only unit to be produced from the failed Machine Soldier project.
Designed to be the first-ever mechanical combatant without a human operator, “Tank” is expertly trained in military procedures and possesses both unmatched strength in hand-to-hand combat, and a suit of weaponized armor that earned her code-name. However, despite her promising features, she was never to be deployed- complications arose in the early days of the Machine Soldier project, which lead to delays in manufacture and testing. Just as “Tank” was deemed fit for battle, the war she was designed for ended, and the countries involved were not happy with the tardy entry…
Decommissioned, “Tank” was left as nothing more than a scientific curiosity in the military base she called home, to have her AI examined and played with. Eventually, that too waned. Unable to leave freely despite her clearly sapient mind, she grew lethargic and began to gravitate towards lazy activities like watching TV and playing video games. Would a battle ever come to her, a chance to show her true potential?
A decade would pass. Something called the Earth Mobilization Initiative would begin. A desperate scramble to pool many nation’s resources to create mighty military machines, in anticipation of a coming threat from the stars. A letter would arrive, addressed to one “Tank”.
