As most of you know by now, Samantha-X has been an on-and-off again comic project for years. In 1997, I decided to bring her back by bugging a few local artists/friends to draw Samantha pin-ups as part of a fund-raising portfolio project.

One of those who responded was Ed Garcia…and he responded big time as he offered three illustrations! This is one of them.

For this one, Ed took advantage of my weakness for stewardesses and dressed Samantha up as one. Adding insult to injury, he snuck me in the background, the geek to the upper left…that me! Years before my lazik eye surgery.

To the right of the picture, from top to down: Olivia Newton-John, Xena and James Lomax, a mutual friend. What was the connection between the first two and Samantha? You got me…..ask Ed.

Please remember, all of this was Ed’s idea….not mine.
