I like the idea of the battle ship in this up front, the little raydome's / radar like details ontop of it look nice and feel real. the color is also quite nice actually for a sketch I suppose. it feels like the ship is just cruising through the passage and the distant damged ship I guess makes for good narrative. the large base like structure on the cliffs also has a good feel and scale to it but maybe could have been alittle less resembleing the ship which almost make the two look like the same thing, over all very nice composition and work for a quicky.

You make all these look so traditionally done! Love your brush strokes in every piece, any tips on achieving painterly strokes in photoshop?

I think the biggest point is to find a good brush and the next step will be to play around with the settings. Beside normal brush work, the smudge tool could be really helpful to achieve a painterly feeling.
