I've been working in pencil this past few weeks, this is the most recent portrait - a cute li'l spaniel. My aunt had one when I was a kid so I have a real soft spot for them. Worked in HB pencil with a teeny bit of help from some putty
Couldn't get a "live" model so I used photo references instead to get the markings right.

Eyes can be sharper with darker pencil and bigger reflection.

Really good use of the graphite pencil, I like the fact that is not plain layout; very detailed and good shading. I enjoy portraits of anything, I actually have one of myself and my daughter. Check it out sometime if you're up to it. Later!
