Thank you sweetie. Its a cow bird. They are quite common, but of course the males in the bird world, are prettier than the females they're a drab gray. You can't tell very well from this photo but his head is brown and his body is an irridescent green.

Oh of course the guys be all flashy lol. I know to attract mates and
lure away predators. Iridescent green. Do birds see in the same wave
 lengths as we do. I think I read hummingbirds see flowers differently .
lol...does that make any sense?

They can see UV light which humans can't so maybe that hummingbirds are seeing, when they look at flowers. Bees see flowers a lot differently than humans do too and I think it also has to do with UV light. Yes that makes total sense.

No I don't believe they do, but now of course I just have to know for sure. I'll let you know what I find out....haha.

Apparently they do makes lens to see UV light but I didn't really have time to check it out.

Or we could use a UV light and put flowers under it in a dark room and we might be able to see what birds see.

A UV light is a black light, but a black light is not a UV light. Its a little confusing. I'll see if I can find something that better explains it than I have....lol.
