Chapter II: A Special Occasion - page 11This sequence is one of my favorites, but to know why, you really have to go and check the TURBO version at the site.
For me as a sequential artist, this is one of the reasons digital comics can be superior to print comics.

Nice! Usually child-killing is shied away or done off-scene but you made it in taste methinks and it's still disturbing and did not lose its impact. Oh and the art is excellent

When I first thought of this scene I didn't know if it was going to work on the page, but I'm happy to see that readers are getting shocked at some level with it

Jeebus H. Keerist! You'd think they'd feed on the child in the traditional monster sense, but you also have to remember that in the earlier pages they appeared more like nightmare creatures. So having the child transform into an orb of blood that they siphon... Man, that is beyond Freddy Kruger material. It's almost H. R. Giger-esque in style, but I can't quite put my finger on why. But it is definitely terrifying.
Uh, I gotta visit the little boys' room...

I put quite some thought on how to do this scene and it still shocks me a little bit every time I see it, really. I'm satisfied on how it turned out.

It's definitely an upside down exclamation mark, the other lower case 'I's are different. So yeah, might want to check that.
