why is that surprising? i wanted sharpness and a wider depth of field because i was focusing so close.. hehe. but yeah, i shoot manual. and i've actually never used P mode.. o_o

oh, i see.. hehe, i guess this might be odd, but 1/50 is really great for me. when i take photos, my body (and most importantly: my hands) actually stay pretty still. and i was laying on my stomach when this was taken, anyways. so yeah. the f/10 was narrow enough for me, and that shutter speed wasn't a problem.
