That is a taxidermy eye. Try a Google search for "taxidermy eyes" and you will find some on-line sites. I got that particular eye (and a couple of others) from a bead dealer at an annual bead fair, and I got the wolf eye in "Raveneye" at a garage sale, so I knew exactly what I was getting. I'd buy a bunch of eyes on-line if I could be sure of getting that level of quality, but I have seen a lot of badly done taxidermy eyes. At some point, I may just get a few eyes from several dealers to find out what their quality is.

Well, I wouldn't be awfully surprised; Google-spamming is getting worse and worse. And twenty pounds is way overpriced (like too much stuff on eBay is). But I waded through a bunch of sites, and it looks like the eye in "Antler Eye Pendant 3" is a lynx eye. So if I were going to try buying some samples, I'd start with Van Dykes, the big U.S. supplier: [link] And I found another that looks possible: [link]

Beautiful and well crafted, either way, well done, and keep up the good work.

Great piece, Don! I like the natural shape of the 'eyelid' opening; makes it all the more spooky.

I do most of my sales in person, in convention dealer rooms or at festivals. A lot of my work's appeal is how it looks from different angles, how it feels in the hand, and so on. I got on deviantART so when people asked what I do, I could give them a URL, and only started selling occasional items because people asked if they could buy them. It still feels a bit strange....
