A poor Chilesaurus that doesn't get any attention at all because of a certain bat-dinosaur...

Chilesaurus diegosuarezi was a theropod that lived during the Upper Jurassic of Chile, about 145 million years ago.
What makes him special is that he's a herbivore. Yes, a meateater who decided to become a vegetarian. His short, round head was placed on a long neck, his hands had three fingers of which only two had claws and on his feet he had a large hallux.
The official reconstruction that's been spread by the media has also a beak, but I have no idea how they came to the idea to give him one. There's no indication it had one for as far as I know...

Several specimens have been found with the biggest being 3,2 meters long. What's also nice is that his first remains were found by a seven year old boy named Diego Suárez who was searching fossils with his family a decade ago. The dinosaur got named after the boy which is, together with finding and helping to dig up the dinosaur, one of the most awesome things that can happen to a him.

So many awesome discoveries that have been published these last weeks. I have some drawing to do, but it's also almost exam-time in school so it's going to take a while before I'll have something to upload I fear...
