"There are no wells in the city, never have been and never will be dug." Deep beneath the infinite city lies the still and retched waters of the abyssal depths. Waters stained black with decay, quenching any light entering the waters. In this landscape lies only one entity, that which consumed all others long ago and now lies in wait for its own demise as even in its all encompassing might it too must feed; as each day passes it consumes more of itself, cannibalizing its body to remain whole. There is no ecosystem, no predator or prey, just that which lies in wait.
