Here is another batch of mermaids! There is one more batch to come! THank you everyone for suggesting all the sea life for me to make mermaids out of. This batch is a bit more visually complex then my earlier designs. Some of them simply needed more detail to do the creature justice.From left to right and top to bottom:
Turtle Mermaid, Sea Angel Mermaid, Glaucus Atlanticus Mermaid, Algae Mermaid, Coral Mermaid, Red Seaweed mermaid, Sponge Mermaid, Sea Snail Mermaid, and Green Seaweed Mermaid.
I'm quite proud of the sponge mermaid, I enjoy drawing pudgy mermaids for some reason. The green sea weed mermaid is kind of like an underwater Repunzel. The Glaucus mermaid looks like it belongs in Tron and thats awesome. The Sea Angel was a great suggestion, I never heard of a sea angel but I am so glad I did it. Gah there is so much I love about all the sea life you suggested to me. If you haven't seen one of your suggestions up here, they might be in the next batch!
Just like the others ones, please tell me your favorite!

I serious love all your designs! Buuuut...I have to say the turtle because I love centaurs and the algae because she's just adorable and I feel like she'd be one of those girls that dresses bizarrely/like a bag lady and all the popular, fashionable girls make fun of her but she's too nice or crazy to notice or understand and so goes about life carefree and happy. Reading into it too much? Probably, but it just came to me from her adorable smile through her hair....^-^

I'm particularly fond of the Glaucus Atlanticus.
I was visiting the Boston Aquarium this weekend and came across a Mandarin Fish, which might be interesting from a purely color standpoint. I'm considering playing with it myself but wanted to put it out there in case it strikes a chord for you as well

Algae Mermaid is probably my favorite though. Such a vile substance but so elegant here! She looks sorta like an Adventure Time character, actually.
