Righteous Giratina... It'd be hilarious if Ash decided to kidnap Meowth. XD
I bet he'd probably deflect the ball and send it back in Ash's face, though. Or maybe even just break it in two with a swipe of his claws... Poké Balls clearly aren't that difficult to destroy, considering the way Jessie just crushed one with her foot once.

That's true, but you know, if Ash randomly through a pokeball at Meowth it might just catch him off-guard because...you know, who would ever see that coming? xD

Yeah, but even if the Poké Ball worked, Ash would have to quickly pick it up somehow before Jessie and James thought to spray smoke in his face or attack him with a carnivorous plant and escape with it. And even if he managed to beat them to it, I think Meowth would just try to be as utterly unhelpful and obnoxious as possible in order to force Ash to blast him off and send him back.
