Just a little entry for Jamie and Pi-Roe in SDL. I tried to do it so it looked like ink washed on old style paper and I think I like the results. Those backgrounds took forever though.If you can find your character among the random people I'll cite you.

well the original old paper texture I made by staining cardstock with coffee. Then I scanned it in and overlayed it on the comic. Everything else is fake though.

Well I'm open to a splash page duel or a comic. The due date should be fairly soon, and it would be cool to pick a common tittle or theme. When we have all the particulars ironed out we note [link] and put up our duels.

I really likt the ink-washed style in this, and how the blossoms are the only different colored thing so it really makes the pop

Very nice! I agree, the ink effect turned out really well. *grins* Silly Jamie; it doesn't matter how many weird people are around, they still manage to notice each other! Especially when one of you is a giant horse.

Just a comment though, Pyro's samurai-ish name would actually be pronounced "Pee-ro-eh"... If you want it to be pronounced more like the normal way "Pa-i-ro" is what I would suggest. >> (Sorry. I just got back from a hiragana test in my Japanese class... Ignore me if you'd like.)

Actually he's not Japanese. Pi-Roe is a European warhorse. Specifically the breed that Percheron's came from. So he's mostly Arab mixed with draft horse. His previous owner was a Spaniard with Moorish blood on his mother's side, so his name is a conglomeration of many influences.
