For my next purchase, I'm looking at a 24-50 mm (I think) lens for my Nikon D90. The current 18-105 mm is great, but I'm going to need more than just the one lens.

I'd probably buy something that is out of the range of your current one. (Something that's not in between 18-105 mm)
If what your looking for are backup, or simply alternate, lenses then that choice is fine.

I'm hoping to get a 75-300 mm at some point, simply because I need the zoom lens.
