If Chalkzone has taught me anything, it's that for toons, these sorts of injuries can be easily fixed with any sort of drawing implement.

Goku and other animes were designed to handle doing laser blasts and glowing in powerful aura-whatever.
Conroy and other toons aren't. That's why they don't attempt chi blasts, otherwise they'll get hurt.

actually in Japan it's called "Ki".
And Conroy should read "Hokuto no Ken" and "Kinnikuman" for more brutal techniques found in Shonen manga.
