Description Instructions
-Drag and drop tiles from the side bar to the grid. The empty tile (On the bottom) lets you put items and breakable platforms in the air.

Each tile has 3 useful options: Tile, Station and Platform.
*-Tile lets you change the position of the horizontal and vertical parts of the platform. If a platform is missing a part, it has no effect
*-Station puts a station on a platform. There are 3 types.
*-Platform puts a breakable platform in the tile, the weight value says how much force is needed to break it.
The other options are unavailable because you can't load images from outside deviantart.

In the options menu:
-Click "Get Code" to see the code generated for the stage. This can be stored in a text file for future use.
-Click "Test Stage" to play the stage as it actually is. Your character starts on tile [1,1] (The second tile from the top and left).
-Click "Set Values" to change the initial position of the character and the name of the stage.

Each tile is 400 pixels, to find out where you want your character, just multiply the tile number by 4.

Description
I've been working slowly, so I though you deserved to see what's going on.

Here's the stage builder, just try it out. I also implemented check points and the goal tile, but you can't use the "items" command here so it won't work.

Look at the bottom left corner when testing the game: See the water, helium and weight values there.

Note: Functions that require image files cannot be used.

I don't really know what the problem is. Maybe you chose the wrong type of platform.

This stage builder wasn't really designed for normal users. The version I have here on deviantart is far outdated already, so there may be mistakes in it.

i got a question. if i made a stahe on this and copied the code in "get code", how would i use it to reopen the stage? or is there another way to open it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doom-the-wolf In reply to vladplasmes [2010-03-21 15:45:13 +0000 UTC]

You can save the code in a txt file. If you download the stage builder, you can load the code by clicking the "Load Code" button in the options menu and typing the name of the file. The stage builder here on deviantart isn't correct, though. Go to my website to get the latest version.

I was able to make one But I was unable to save it. Other then that it was fun. I think that you might have to explain more how stuff works and the controls. I'm hoping that you will work on it some more soon.

This is good already, but it could be improved remarkably if the blocks in the test mode were to come up the same colour as in the builder mode, rather than coming up clear.

Doom-the-wolf In reply to MilesEnzoGoldPrower [2009-12-28 02:01:16 +0000 UTC]

It loads stages from text files. You'd have to download the program, make your stage and save the code in a text file in the same folder. Then you can load it into the stage builder again.

Doom-the-wolf In reply to MilesEnzoGoldPrower [2009-12-28 02:10:31 +0000 UTC]

Any program that can save basic text should work. Maybe it's best that you don't worry about designing stages. The stage builder here is currently outdated, and it was made to be used by stage designers.

This doesn't even make sense. You are saying this from a one-sided view. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is wrong.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

GoranXII [2009-12-16 03:29:05 +0000 UTC]

Pretty darn good. The only issues I've found to date are the lack of spike, the inability to close the get code window, and the inability to load any code into the editor.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Doom-the-wolf In reply to GoranXII [2009-12-16 10:46:06 +0000 UTC]

It is possible to close the code window. The close button should be in about exactly the same place as the "Get Code" button.

The reason you can't add spikes or load code from places is quite obvious: This is devinatart, I don't have access to the file system here. If you want to download a full version of the stage builer. Go to my website.

Well everything seems to be working good now, except that I can't get my custom tile arts to load, is .bmp the format, or is it something else?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Doom-the-wolf In reply to GoranXII [2009-12-16 23:12:06 +0000 UTC]

The tiles must be in PNG, GIF or JPG format. But if you want transparent pixels, you should not use JPG format.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GoranXII In reply to Doom-the-wolf [2009-12-16 23:26:15 +0000 UTC]

Okay, I've got the tiles in .png format, but I can't make them work, are the image names supposed to be in the stage codes themselves, or what?
