Description
                                                           Doomed
                                               I can hear them coming.
                                   Silently, quickly and deadly they stalk,
                                   Coming to take me into the shadows.
             I hear them, shrieking in the trees, howling over the roar of the wind.

                                            They advance, step by step.
                                                      I am doomed.
    They lurk in every dark corner, every place the revealing light cannot find them.
                               They are in the dusty black places of my mind.
                                            Coming closer and closer.

                           I see their white teeth, their gleaming red eyes.
                                  A bony claw hooks onto my shoulder.
                                   I close my eyes, awaiting my demise.
                         Suddenly, a shrill cry of anguish shatters the silence.
                                           I look up. The sun is rising.
                    Frightened, they scuttle for protection from the burning light.
                 I have been saved once, but when the sun sets, they may return.
                                                  You never know.
