Thought I'd post something before leaving this weekend.
As of lately I've become rather attatched to Brigman's Anatomy book - I pretty much steal it every day from the library between classs.
I fear I may be straying from my beloved Hogarth anatomy. After class, the guy who sits behind said he liked my drawing and asked me to design a tattoo for him.
Not quite sure what I'm going to do there.

Yeah, I'm attending the Art institute of Portland and we have a 4 hour, once a week, class for anatomy with a model there. The real focus of the class is on memorizing bones and muscles though.

Very nice rendering ability you have there, very well defined. AS for the Rectus abdominis sticking out, we have a model in my Anatomy and Movement class who looks like that. With the extra muscle it actually makes more of a gut when they bend like that, I think

That what happened to me! A few months after I met my stepdad, he said that I was really good at drawing and asked/told me to make a tattoo design of him and my mom. Erm, the process took a few months to be frank. And not necessarily the drawing.
These are really nice torsos, but the stomach muscles seem to stick out a little too much.

Nice torsos. Some of the areas look a little undefined, like the pec area of the bottom left picture. But seriously, way to go to actually learn anatomy, so many people don't go through the trouble and it really shows.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The ref pictures were ink sketches - they kinda left me guessing on the shadows.

Thank you! I tried to be a little more 'scribbly' with my lines here...it helped me loosen up quite a bit.
I'm gonna try and do 2 of these a week at least - more lunch breaks well spent, if you ask me.
