How I would Make MLP Gen 5 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will end soon. All good things must come to an end, and planned obsolescence is part of Hasbro's reboot and revival strategies. Every few years, Hasbro will reboot their popular toylines. While this one proved to be their most popular with a run of almost a decade and one of the longest running television cartoons to accompany it, this will end too.Β
Most of the leaks say Hasbro already has an exit strategy. They kept this one running as long as they did because of its popularity. Though the plans for G5 were leaked. Needless to say I...am not impressed. I won't say what they are in this post to avoid spoilers, but I do have plans of my own for what I want this new generation to be. The prospect of a reboot is actually in my favor, because I like seeing new toylines get a revamp after a time. It's simple economics. So using my knowledge of storytelling and business, I offer my views on how to update the franchise.Β
