Description

It is a cold and dark night, and the only light that you could see is that of a fire in the middle of nowhere...

There are a lot of uncommon and strange looking characters around this fire, just there, staring at the fire.

Waiting.

They are all waiting for you to tell them your story, who you are and how will you help them on this Journey

You take a step ahead, breaking the circle, and start telling your story, all of the others eyes looking like they could look into your soul.

---

Warrior:

(From Diablo I)

A Mainly melee class, original from Khanduras. Many of the warriors in Khanduras joined their kingdom's army and went to war against the kingdom of Westmarch. After suffering defeat at the hands of their neighboring country, the surviving warriors came home to a cursed land. Motivated by the temptations of glory and gold, the warriors went beneath the desecrated church in Tristam to face the evil it housed.

Rogue

(Sister of the Sightless Eye):
(From Diablo I)

(Female Only)

Ppart of the Sisterhood of the sightless eye, The Sisters of the Sightless Eye are a loosely organized guild shrouded in mystery amongst the peoples of the West. These highly skilled archers employ ancient Eastern philosophies that develop an "Inner-sight" that they use both in combat and to circumvent dangerous traps that they may encounter. Known only as wandering rogues in the West, the Sisters conceal their secret affiliation by posing as simple travelers. Many pompous fools have made the mistake of underestimating these steel nerved women in combat and paid a terrible price for their vanity.

Wizard

(Vizjerei Clan and Xiansai Wizards):
(From Diablo I)

(From Diablo III)

A powerful spellcaster, member of the most powerful of the eastern mage clans - the Vizjerei Clan. In ancient times, a powerful order of sorcerers, the Horadrim, was formed by the Archangel Tyrael to battle the Prime Evils exiled from the Burning Hells. The last of such order is believed to be Deckard Cain

There is a second clan, on the Xiansai Island Nation, manipulating the primal forces of the storm, arcane and even time itself, the Wizard is not afraid to destroy all in the path to victory.

Not much is known about this clan, although...

Amazon:
(From Diablo II)

(Female Only)

This powerful woman warrior belongs to nomadic bands who roam the plains near the South Sea. The wandering of these groups often brings them into conflict with other peoples, so the Amazon is accustomed to fighting to defend her own. This lifestyle has made her fiercely independent and able to weather severe hardship and travel. While her skill with the Bow rivals that of the Rogues, the Amazon is also adept in the use of Spears and J avelins, as well as in hand to hand combat

Barbarian:

(From Diablo II)

Members of many of several tribes on the fringes of civilization, rebuffs the influence of those he sees as soft and weak. Ceaseless clan warfare and the constant struggle to survive in the hostile wilderness are evident in the Barbarian's sturdy and powerful frame. Though perhaps lacking the sophistication of his civilized contemporaries, the Barbarian has an acute awareness of his surroundings. Because of his shamanistic belief in the animal powers with whom he identifies, the Barbarian is sometimes associated with stories of lycantrophy. In fact, he believes that he can improve his superb battle tactics by calling upon the totemic animal spirits to infuse him with supernormal strengths and abilities.

Necromancer

(Priests of Rathma):

(From Diablo II)

From the steamy recesses of the southern swamps comes a figure cloaked in mystery. The Necromancer, as his name implies, is an unseemly form of Sorcerer whose spells deal with the raising of the dead and the summoning and control of various creatures for his purposes. Though his goals are often aligned with those of the forces of Light, some do not think that these ends justify his foul means. Long hours of study in dank mausolea have made his skin pale and corpse-like, and his figure is skeletal. Most people shun him for his peculiar looks and ways, but none doubt the power of the Necromancer, for it is the stuff of nightmares

Paladin:

(From Diablo II)

The Knights of Westmarch who felled the armies of mighty Leoric are pure at heart and closely follow the teachings of Zakarum, the Religion of the Light. A battle-ready warrior for whom faith is a shield, the Paladin fights for what he believes to be right. His steadfastness gives him powers to bestow blessings to his friends and wreak cruel justice on foes. There are those who call the Paladin an overwrought zealot, but others recognize in him the strength and goodness of the Light.

Sorceress

(Zann Esu Priestesses):

(From Diablo II)

(Only Females)

The female mage clan of Zann Esu is one of the oldest of the ancient clans, although little is actually known about them. Centuries ago, the fourteen powerful covens of Esu witches convened for the first time in generations. What they discussed is not known, but the witches left behind their former lives and, as a group, disappeared into the Eastern jungles.

Assassin

(Viz-Jaq'taar / Order of the Mage Slayers):

(From Diablo II: Lord of Destruction)

Also known as the Viz-Jaq'taar or the Order of the Mage Slayers, Assassins are an ancient order originally founded by the V izjerei Clan to hunt down and eliminate rogue magi within their own ranks. Employing secret disciplines to combat and resist the magical abilities of their elusive quarry, the Assassin's bag of tricks includes traps and other infernal devices, martial arts, and powerful mental abilities. Common people know nothing of the Assassins, but they are widely feared and respected by all who employ the magic arts.

Druid:
(From Diablo II: Lord of Destruction)

They are a race of nomadic warrior-poet-kings. Driven from their homelands long ago by their Barbarian brothers, the Druid tribes live primarily in the northern forests. They shun the use of traditional magic, or Dubhdroiacht, as they call it. Instead, they practice a form of magic based in their close bond to nature and the world of Sanctuary. Using their intimate kinship as well as mystic secrets passed down through the generations, they can summon the elements of fire, earth and wind to do their bidding, and command the creatures of the forest to aid them in battle. Shifting from their human forms into that of wild beasts, gives them abilities far beyond those of other mortals.

Witch Doctor:

(From Diablo III)

Many believe that the Witch Doctors of the Umbaru to be legend, though their abilities suggest otherwise. They dispatch their opponents with terrifying precision, assaulting a victim's mind and body with elixirs and powders that evoke fires, explosions and poisonous spirits. In addition, the Witch Doctors have the ability to summon Undead creatures from the N etherworld to do their bidding

Monk:

(From Diablo III)

Monks are religious, spiritual warriors on the side of Good raised to be pure reflections of their deities through their fighting techniques.

Demon Hunter:
(From Diablo III)

They call themselves the demon hunters, a group of fanatical warriors sworn to a single purpose: the destruction of the creatures of the Burning Hells. The demon hunters number in the hundreds and make their home in the Dreadlands so that they can live and train without the interference of any nation that would worry over having such a fearsome group camped within its borders. There is something in all demon hunters that gives them the strength to resist the demonic corruption that would drive lesser men to madness. They hone this power, for their resistance to this taint enables them to use the demons' power as a weapon. But their mission and their power are not all that bind them together.

Gunslinger:
(Original Class)

Not really a class but a long forgotten mastery and life philosophy... the ones that call themselves "gunslingers" are the masters of a weapon that resemble magic without being it, the gun. The gunslinger have an strict behaviour code... they are lonesome but sometimes, when it's needed, they may group. They also consider their weapon a really personal issue, to the extreme that one may never use another gunslinger's gun, as it might react different or even go against the unknown user, or so says the lore.

There is no hometown for the gunslingers, but it's said that they might have appeared the same day Mt. Arreat dissapeared from Sanctuary as the worldstone was shattered by Tyrael... so it's said the technology they use might have otherwordly origins.

As the last one finished speaking, a tall guy, with his skin almost gray as ashes, long black hair and a blue icey stare, covered in a white cloak and a blueish bone chest protector approached the fire and started talking.

"I am Raine, a Priest of Rathma... or a Necromancer, as you might know us..."

He moved and his white cloak moved ghostly with him

"We Rathma cultists aren't usually well recieved, as we're supposedly an ill omen, hah!... but we're probably to blame for that ill reputation, as we rarely show up, and our hometown location is a secret we would die and still not reveal... so, our life is surrounded by death AND mystery."

"Our sorcery allow us to manipulate the arcane power of life essence, we learned about the balance between life and death and use the knowledge to protect that very balance... some might say we're most useful nowadays when there's a lot of death around, and you might want the power of manipulate it on your side. The true is that we know how to canalize life, and we rather see it like that. We won't use our knowledge for our own purposes, but to balance life and death"

"Anyway... I'm thirty years old, and have spent more than a half of those years among corpses and in cemeteries and theorizing a lot about life and death... and my cult rarely cares about the exterior world... as they think all the death happening around them is just plain normal... and some might even think they're together with the Hell lords, but that's not true, they're just neutral."

He took one bone staff out of his cloak, the bone yellow and with a feathery tip and a skull with a pair of small horns in it and huge eye cavities.

"You might ask yourself why I chose to part and help... well, it happens that not all of us Rathma Cultists are so shortsighted and some of us even noticed that the problems might, one day or another, reach our hometown, as hidden as it is... there's nothing hidden to the Lords of Hell, and they're just waiting for the right time... and since our first expeditioner never returned, and we felt his soul leaving Sanctuary, we think that we won't allow that time to come."

"We simply won't allow the prime evils to unbalance the life and death on Sanctuary"

He walked backwards to his spot on the circle, and stays there.
In the darkness one might be able to see a bit of an spectral aura around Raine, but then look again and think it was just imagination...

DeviantCatFreak [2011-11-24 18:56:25 +0000 UTC]

From the more darker part of the fire came a Saber Cat. She pulls a lit pipe out from her mouth and exhales into the air. Her exhale was slightly shaky, she was not used to be around with others to begin with. Putting the pipe out she places it somewhere on her side belt and runs a clawed hand through her sandy hair that goes down to her shoulders. Clearing some hair out of the way, on her right eye is a black steel eye patch.

"Well..."

She spoke at a low volume, and adjusts a strap that went around her shoulder. The strap was attached to an odd looking weapon.

"I'm as you can see a Saber Cat, none of you may trust me, but that's fine. The only trust I need is from my weapon."

Taking the sling off she presents in her hands a weapon made of iron and wood. It's like a crossbow without string or the use of bolts. Pulling back on it's hammer she then pulls the trigger that makes a loud metallic click.

"My name is Luna Eyewound. Was born on the day of a full moon, then later lost my eye on a hunt. I left my clan in search of a better life, and came across these strange prints. The prints allowed me to create my weapon, and the materials to operate it. There was also a book, the life of the Gunnslinger. Here it is explained about our codes, and how this weapon shall be passed on."

Luna pulls out a black leather book, that looks worn. She puts it away in a side bag.

"I'm not a clanswoman, I'm not a raider like my sisters, I am my own being. One of the codes of the Gunslinger is to be your own, and I respect it. Not everyone can possess the Gunslinger life, so that's why in death a new Gunslinger may continue. I did not just find the prints and codes. I've found them off a dying man. You may think I took his weapon, yes, but I do not have it with me. A dead Gunslinger's gun must be destroyed, so that no unruly creature or person can possess and learn from it. My weapon is of my own design and so are other Gunslingers. I'm always on the move to improve it, and during my efforts to improve I shall do what I can, for a price. I'll be honest, I cannot do anything outright of kindness, I need rewards. If I see a farmer's farm burning with a chance to save it, I will not do anything, until I am promised in goods."

With that said she shrugged and pulls her pipe back out. Then she remembered she forgot a detail.

"Oh yes."

She said exhaling.

"In the age of a Saber Cat, I'm too young to start smoking, but to humans. I'm thirty-four."

She nods and seats herself back down, and pulls a hood up so she's not easily seen from the others along the fire. Just the only thing that stands out is the low orange glow from her pipe.
