This is my new OC Vera. I apologize about the jacket. I tried to get it just right but it was not cooperating. You get the idea though Also the glove that has the black rectangles on them are supposed to be gaunlents similar to Robin's.
She's Black Canary's sister and I just recently started posting her story on fanfiction. The link to it can be found at the bottom. I've paired her with Conner because...well I made her for Conner. She's the Yin to Conner's Yang. Yes, Vera ages and yes, Conner still can't age. I've got a solution to it all though. It was the main reason I created Vera. For any more detail's on Vera, read below. General Personality: Vera is a kind person and very logical thinker. She likes to think things through and have a plan before jumping into a battle. She's highly intelligent, especially when it comes to biology. Vera is an emtional person but you will hardly ever see her cry, especially in front of crowds. She doesn't have a temper but when it does flare up it is wise to get out of her way.
Good Traits: She always has her friend's back, no matter what. She's loyal until the end, even if someone does something really stupid or hurts her deeply. Vera is very humble and doesn't like to flaunt her intelligence, usually she let's the others be the thinkers.
Bad Traits:Vera is extremely stubborn-something she gets from her sister. She's still a little anti-social from being homeschooled and kept away from people her age.
Fears: Vera is utterly terrified of spiders and snakes.
Quirks: Hates being compared to her sister. She's a coffee addict. Vera usually has a book in her hand if she isn't training, bonding with her sister, or hanging with friends.

Power: Canary Cry
Pro-Depending on the frequency she makes the cry it can damage any object in its wake. It can also stun or render enemies unconcious.
Con-Using it to many times in a short amount of time can make her go horse for several days.
Ability: Hand-to-Hand Combat
Pros-She's very skilled at hand-to-hand and knows a variety of styles of fighting.
Cons-She is more of an offensive fighter rather than a defensive fighter.
Ability: Hacking
Pros-Decent enough to hack into the Justice League mainframe.
Cons-Considers it a hobby and rarely does it in the field.
Weapons: Criers (specially made ninja stars the can copy her Canary Cry on lesser scale;she makes them herself)
Pros-She can nail a target with a Crier a hundred feet away.
Con-She can only accurately throw the specially made Criers.
Style: Vera is an up close and personal type of fighter but can use her Canary Cry at a distance. When unable to use her Canary Cry, her Criers can get the job done.
Strengths: Hand-to-hand combat is Vera's go to. She also logically thinks her way through a fight or battle.
Weaknesses: She is not a distance fighter. The best she can do is her Canary Cry a handful of times before turning to her limited supply of Criers.

BACKGROUND
Vera Lance was born to a strict mother and never knew her father. Her older sister, Dinah Lance was very obviously her mother's favorite child. The first Dinah always compared Vera to her sister and unrealisticly expected Vera to be able to keep up with her. Vera was a late bloomer with her metagene and did not have her first Canary Cry until she was nine years old, Dinah having had her's when she was only six. The first Dinah always appeared frustrated and impatient with Vera for not being just like Dinah. Because of the way she was treated during her childhood, Dinah grew to resent her mother. Dinah knew the troubles that Vera was going through and often tried to stick up for her younger sister. Their mother would just ignore her though and pretend that everything was fine. Dinah being eight years older than Vera meant that she she witnessed this from the moment Vera was born. Dinah became Vera's mother figure when she understood that their mother reguarded Vera as a mistake.
Over the years, Vera gradually gave up trying to please her mother and stopped trying to be Dinah. She realized that she can't be another person and can only be who she truely is. It was after this that Vera discovered her love of biology and favorite pass time of reading. When Vera stopped trying to please her mother, the first Dinah gave up on her. She casted Vera aside and often told her that she was a disappointment to the family and Canary name. Even though Vera gave up trying to please her mother, she still wished that her mother would start caring about who she was as a person. This often lead to many arguements between the mother and daughter, as Dinah as a moderator.
When Dinah graduated high school, she opted out of college and chose to stay home to take care of her sister. This lead to a large arguement between Dinah and her mother, leading Dinah to get custody of Vera at the young age of 18. Over the course of a few months, the Dinah's reconnected and the first Dinah continued to train her daughter. Dinah often told Vera that she only did this so she would know how to properly train Vera on her Canary Cry. Evetntually the first Dinah deemed her daughter worthy of the Black Canary mantle but only got to see her daughter in action for a few weeks before dying of a heart attack.
Vera decided to forgive her mom after her death but the topic of her mom still makes Vera very uncomfortable. Vera started fighting crime a couple weeks after her mother's death, mostly to prove that she can be the person her mother wanted her to be without being her sister. Dinah was unaware of her sisters actions as a vigilante and once made aware, threatened to lock her in the basement until she was thrity. After a lot of begging and several fits, Dinah finally relented and allowed Vera to become Red Canary. Vera made her first appearence as Red Canary only two months after Robin made his first appearence in Gotham City.
When Green Arrow eventually took on a protege of his own, he looked to the Canaries to assist him with the angry boy that was Roy Harper. Vera immediately disliked him and wished for him to disappear. They were always arguing when the two elders decided to patrol together and at one point, Vera broke Roy's arm and nose when he told her that she would always be her sisters mini me. A few months into Roy being Speedy, he was kidnapped. Vera felt responsible because they were supposed to be patrolling together but after Roy made a nasty comment, she stormed off. The Canaries assisted in located Roy and when they finally found him after months, Vera apologized immensely for leaving him alone-to which Roy told her it wasn't her fault but ruined the first good moment between them by telling her that it wasn't her fault because she wouldn't have been able to stop them with her amatuer self. Gradually, Vera and Roy stopped bickering and a romance blossomed between the two. Their fellow protege's were never made aware of it because Roy saw it as unprofessional.
Vera's mother inadverdiantly taught her that treating a person horribly only makes them resent and hate you. This makes her strive to be a better person than her mom. Her mother's death also makes her a very forgiving person. She never got to tell her mother that she forgave her after all the horrible things she put her through, so Vera tries to forgive people as soon as she can because she may never get the chance to do it in person.

I used rclewley2's Nightfall as a base for this. I kept the bangs and also used her Flame OC for the ponytail. I'm not very good at hair so that's why I used them as a base. rclewley2 got the base from catgoddess92 . She's got really good bases and rclewley has really good OC's so go check both out.
