This is an old shooting range of the German Army.

From this holes come the targets.

 


And somewhere there was the gunman.




And with that, the discs were hand-cranked upwards.

I wouldn't dream of it, but I used to love going to the range with my Dad...

Wanna bet?I remember them snickering as I walked to the firing line.
Can't say I blame them; a chubby 11-year-old, with a big double barrel 12-guage over his forearm---I think the adults expected the recoil to fly me to the parking lot.
The target thrower asked me how many and when I held up two fingers, he shook his head but loaded two in the catapult.
I snapped the shotgun shut, brought it up to my shoulder and yelled, "PULL!"
Clay "pigeons" flew---BLAM...BLAM...each target disappeared in a puff of dust.
I broke open the gun, pulled the spent shells and dropped them in a bucket by my foot.
As the ringing in my ears faded, I heard the cheering.
I turned to see some guy handing money to my Dad; there was no trophy to be had that day, but I still went home with a prize.
