A very poor photoshop i made.

I made this because the pterosaurs Dimorphodon and Pteranodon are incredibly poor choices for this attack scene. Dimorphodon was a harmless insectivore, and Pteranodon was a piscivore that may have been aggressive, but would most likely not care about humans at all.

A far better choice for this scene would be one of the large ground-stalking Ahzdarchids, like Quetzalcoatlus or Hatzegopteryx, pterosaurs that actually hunted human-sized animals, and would actually have been able to lift a grown woman into the air. They are such an obvious choice for this scene that it makes me slightly annoyed.

Even when they finally did introduce an ahzdarchid into the franchise, the beautifully designed dominion Quetzalcoatlus, its A, oversized, and B, used only to crash a plane. we don't get to see any of their ground stalking. Something like the Therizinosaurus scene with Claire would have been perfect for them.

luckily, Prehistoric planet gave pterosaurs and especially ahzdarchids their due, but I still wish that the JW movies had been more considerate with the creatures they used.
