Description These have only just pushed out of the dirt.  They are hardly bigger than a grain of sand.

Well I went back there multiple times, but could not find them again.  It seems like they have only a very short life, or maybe the property is just to big to find these little ones again.

Ah sad. I'd imagine they have a short life. I'm a big fan of mushrooms. Too many times I have tried to go back with a camera a few days later and the interesting mushrooms I had seen before were all dying.

It seems that these only last a few days.  We have others, much bigger ones that last several weeks.

Nice! I've never seen any that last so long.

I'm observing some at home again that last several weeks.  They grow to about 6 to 8 inches across.  Some baby ones from earlier this year: Mushroom 2

Sorry again for another slow reply.

Thanks for the link! A bunch like this came up in my neighborhood but they were gone the next day. I didn't even get a chance to take pictures.

You're welcome Priscilla!

Yes amazing how short lived some of these mushrooms are.

One day I'd like to try sculpting them out of polymer clay. I know someone who makes jewelry that sometimes involves tiny mushrooms and they look so real. I saw someone selling blown glass mushrooms that looked realistic, too, but I don't know anything about blowing glass. haha

Well I don't even know anything about sculpting...  I only ever managed to make cups and vases in school when we were doing stuff like that.

Ah yes. The slab or coil method, right? Unless you made them on a wheel. I have done both before but that was many years ago.

I wouldn't remember, it's some 40 years ago.  Not old enough yet to remember things that happened during my school years...  But my short term memory has started to slip a bit.

Thank you Anastasya.  The grass was there by accident, but I thought it made for a good size comparison
