Yes it was a very nice place to look at.Β Pity we didn't have any time to stay but we had a long drive ahead of us.

That happens to me a lot. I should just plan more time to stop and see things. In February during a road trip to go bird watching I went right past a great viewing area in favor of an island that is usually awesome but that time was very cold and windy and sand had blown into the road so most of the birds were hiding.

There was no room to plan any differently.Β We had a friend along who went on a guided three days walk so that was a fixed date.Β And there are only twice a week direct flights between where I live and Christchurch, so that was another fixed date.
That sounds like the wind was quite strong.

It was! But probably nothing compared to what it is right now as we speak. That's where Hurricane Florence is hitting at the moment.
