Description Here is Lien-Da from the Archie Comics, Knuckles. Up until recently, she was rebooted with Dr. Eggman into the Dark Egg Legion, and then disappeared along with most of the Echidnas in the comics... or so we think..
I've had this un-finished for a long time, and until recently, decided to finish it. I cropped it from the waste up (because it is an actual full body portrait) so it could fit inside your screen. Her shirt was a bit too open (like in Mobius 25 Years Later) so I gave her an undershirt. That's it.
I was going to give her a background, but I didn't feel like it. I drew this back in '12, and it was sitting on my drive collecting dust. Enjoy.

Sadly the reason there are no Echidnas in the Archie Comics is thanks to one dude- (that used to work for them)- take them all. :,0 
I don't know why the Archie Comics never just made new Echidnas. Guess they just didn't care anymore about it or didn't feel like tackling that.

I suppose so. Some of SEGA's echidna's also are no longer appearing in again because of it as well.

That blows. I find the echidnas most interesting and wished there'd be more of them besides Knuckles. He's all alone! x,D 
I haven't read the comics yet but at least SEGA could have some appear in games. (Tho they probably won't thanks to stupid Patters.) 
The only time they did was in Sonic Advanture and after that, a few other ones and then, poof.

Yeah. They're afraid Penders might start something again. I guess going as far as Robotnik cloning and using them as soldiers would be a safe route, since he can't say it's the same as his (especially since echidnas are owned by SEGA).

That sounds like a cool idea. Robotnik going in and cloning the echidnas to trick Knuckles and have them brainwashed. XD 
Though Pender's would probably pull something anyway or pester Sega.

Ooh! She looks lovely! This has probably become one of my favorite Sonic works from your gallery! I like the outfit you made for her, especially the collar! I think the dark purple hue you used is very nice as well! Looking to the right of this webpage, I see a lot of our fellow Deviants in the Collections make her outfit black instead, which I think is overused.

A first, I wasn't quite sure what the silvery metallic "appendage" thingy was , but now I see it's a biotic part of her hair. Your design looks better thought out, and cooler than other ones I've seen. It looks like Lien can use it as a weapon, or something like that. Btw, I see some folks making her hair magenta and others making her hair red, which is canon?

Thanks for the comment and fave. 
Yeah, I went with a purple look, mainly because I think she had that color in the comics. Not to mention I didn't know how to color leather, which is what I think she wears, though I can't be certain. it might be a deep purple leather. As for hair color, I'm not really sure. I've seen it colored dark red to being the same color as the rest of her fur. 
As for the metal appendage- it was during a time where I liked to make things look a bit more dramatic, though I might go back to that as this one has a more sharper look to her.

Yeah, the original had no undershirt, so I added in after it was finished because it looked a little too open.
