My first entry for the contest where you have to think of an animal and subject for the black and white spirits to balance.

I looked up some animal symbolism before doing anything to get some ideas--plus to have them represent something they already, well, represent. I liked a few other ideas, so I may enter some more into the contest because I couldn't choose between them. So look out for one or two more entries from me. I may not get them done, but at least I have this one.

One thing the bear represents is rest, so to counteract that, I chose travel, which also seemed fitting for bears since they often travel great distances to find food and such.

The black spirit is named Adhuc, and the white spirit is Steterit. I just used google translate because of my laziness. It's Latin. Adhuc means "continue" and Steterit means "stay". Simple, but hey, it works.

After seeing a picture through my reference browsing, I HAD to do this color scheme, finding it rather fitting to the black white spirits' colors, and loving the contrast. And even if this piece doesn't win, or absolutely hated, I will still love this piece because it was really fun to do with the contrast. And I find polar bears fun to do, and not too difficult with references. Seriously. If you've never tried doing a serious polar bear picture, TRY IT. I COMMAND you!

It should be easy to find the references I used; they weren't too hard for me to find....

I could ramble on about other things like mistakes I just noticed or whatnot, but I'll just leave you with this.
