I totally agree with you 
in my case it comes from the fact that I started drawing traditionally first and used mostly pencil and thus had mostly greyscale palette - which I fell in love with naturally

awww but you have seen the non censored version and its so much nicer. I realised I painted that wing on another layer and was like "HEY! I can just duplicate it and move it over his junk!" but it was such pretty and intricate junk, half the painting is gone without it but whatever
I absolutely promise that eventually I will get around to finishing my page with information on these races and OC's. Insipid has been making way better progress than me with filling it all in. Im kind of undecided as to whether or not ill have much interesting to add to a comic about this guy, but Ill probably get there eventually. You cant complain though because youre getting your Selbjorn next so youre being so spoiled <3 <3Β

How do you do those glittery effects?

oh my goodness do you mean the glittery in the veins?? Its really just a colour and then a lighter colour and his skin is just normal blending but with grey and a cyan-ish colour. It does look kind of glittery in the end though but I think its just the contrast? I do all my paintings just with a plain old round brush and dont use any filters or layers or anything so if something looks glittery or anything else its most likely just due to a change in colour or contrast

when I attempt anything in a more "painted" style ^^'
