Description
Finally finished my Synth Field Helmet from Fallout 4!This helmet started off as a 3D model that I made based on my own screencaptures from the game. The 3D model was then processed into papercraft form, and the paper model was then hardened with resin. The hardened model was then sculpted over in Bondo, and various details were added in sintra and and resin that I turned on my lathe. A mold was made, from which a Smooth-On Smooth Cast 300 casting was pulled. The tubes on the face plate were cold cast with aluminum powder and polished to a shine. The visor is simple flat PET-G plastic with mirror tint film applied to it flexed into place and secured with hot glue (the darker back side of the mirror film is actually facing outward). Final painting was done with Krylon rattle cans, cheapo acrylic brush paints, mineral spirits, and Rub N Buff.
