It's not actually anything to do with global warming. There is a man made damn (govt. controlled) between Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipeg where they control the level of the water flowing from the Lake Manitoba side into Lake Winnipeg and they have been keeping Lake Manitoba unusually high over the last few years which has caused a lot of damage to the south shore when ever there is a strong north wind. The large waves have just eroded the shore line causing the roots of the trees to be undermined and there is less and less beach.

Many lakes down in the USA have had extremely low water levels , you got the opposite.. ain't global warming fun? Striking image
