Description
Brown Thrashers are secretive. Their favorite spots are under dense vegetation while they rummage through leaf litter for food.
They rarely venture far from thick undergrowth into which they can easily retreat.
It was quite a surprise to find him perched on top of the feeder stand taking nibbles of an orange.
Cool Fact:
An aggressive defender of its nest, the Brown Thrasher is known to strike people and dogs hard enough to draw blood.
