i agree, the planet stands out better, and i like having the moon there,
another idea, if i may, might be keeping the planet where it is, moving the moon to the opposite corner, and having the space be more like a 30x50 band in the middle, basicaly shaving 10 pixels off the top and bottom.
just a thought, ^_^
