Happy Halloween, everybody! And for Halloween, have a spooky ghost-bird that Weaton was unfortunate enough to encounter….

Last Friday on the trail, anntheazelf101 rolled a mixed breed Phantump for my trail run, and two of the choices were Mega Blaziken and Camerupt. This will be epic.

Of course, I need to come up with a good name for him…something volcanic related, I’m thinking, as he has Camerupt’s volcanoes on his back. In the meantime, I thought I’d draw him right before Weaton collides with him on the trail….Good thing I wrote him as courteous, because when I was working on him, the one thing I thought constantly was that I made his design unintentionally very similar to the Screecher from the Don’t Starve mod of the same name. Understand there’d be an entirely different reaction to this guy if that were the case.

Did definitely get the spookiness across—Dad walked by when I was working on the head: “I’m not going in those woods.” And then Mom walks by while I’m doing his hips: “Are you designing a dress?”

So! Our unnamed ‘mon gains:

Full Body x 3

Shading x 2

Specific Background x 2

3 + 2 + 2 = 7 Levels!

And I gain:

7 caps! I remembered!

Wait—does that only count if he has a ref?...

Been having a lot of fun using the drawing/coloring/shading style I’ve been using in my Crescent Cavern pieces—like this one and this one—to the point that I might just stick with it. Rumor has it there are groups that don’t like a sketchy style…and when they woke up, all their clutches had been denied! BWAHAHA!!!

*ahem* Anywho….What do you all think of his design? Proper blend of Phantump/Mega Blaziken/Camerupt (remember, the volcanoes on the back can’t be seen at this angle), or did some variant sneak in? Spent too long at those spooky groups….And any naming suggestions? Maybe something like Caldera or Pyroclastic….
