And so I had to go in for work this morning and because it was slow for the few hours I was there, I decided to sketch something out from my ninja-related project.

One of the main characters I felt I have neglected in development would be Harumi. I have updated her design since the last official revamp , but while working on this sketch, I basically drew her from memory. When I finally got home, I was disappointed how different she looked from the new revamp I had sloppily sketched out in my sketch book (too light and distorted to scan and share). However, once I get around to finalizing designs, I'll probably combine the best of both designs and come up with something awesome.

Inaccuracies include her being sleeveless, she's supposed to have a net over her armor, her corset piece is designed wrong, her (now-collapsible) giant shuriken is totally designed wrong (the updated version looks way cooler), and the holster for that shuriken is on her calf when it should be on her thigh. I definitely dig the beads I added in her hair though, and I might carry that on as a common motif for her. Hopefully I come up with the final designs for this current revamp soon--I know I hate to drag it on, but I require more time...

I don't want to give away too much about this character without spoiling her much, not to mention that I haven't yet concreted her storyline (as with the major plot overall), so all there is to know about her so far is that she's a pure good girl at heart. She is not the stereotypically goody-good heroine however, though it seems a lot like that from an outside perspective. Her motives for doing what she does is far more complex and is more personal than just living up to society's ideal of person who fights for good and justice. Hopefully I can lay out the pieces for this character and make her more appealing than the average good guy template is (I am trying to avoid template characters, but I do occasionally use them as a starting point so they seem at least familiar to a general audience).

Well let me know what you think! Also, if I can ask, do you imagine seeing her better with sleeves or no sleeves?
