Description

My art is not for reposting, referencing, tracing, claiming, or non-commercial and/or commercial distribution in any way. You must have explicit permission from me before using my work.

To those of you who just migrated and have been around for about a year, you already know how this guy is~

The bio is copied and pasted from a note that I gave to a friend over Skype. If you're familiar with this fanfic (which is still being worked on, I promise you) then you can piece together what's going on here.

------

Okay, so he wasn’t always this creepy big Arachnicon hunk that you see now; he was this little freaky nerd surgeon who worked for this OC named Shockblast (i totally didn’t know it was a canon name until it was too late). Shockblast was stealing people off the street and putting in microchips and shit to make an army that he would use to take down the Council and become THE Prime, because he thinks they’re doing a shit job of it and he can do better but nobody supports him. So these chipped bots had to obey him or the chip would set off and fry them.

Gearshift was Arthropod’s original name. Once some kidnappers brought in a new subject he got real excited. Know why? This subject was Packrat, the same Packrat on the Black Solus, the one who had been mutated with bad energon throughout his childhood that fucked up his t-cog and made him turn into an animal. Shockblast let Gearshift have his fun with him, vivisecting the poor rat a couple of times to figure out the anatomy and how to apply it to people who hadn’t been subjected to years worth of chemicals. This started a branch of Shockblast’s secret army called Animox (totally a collective name I created a few years ago to put Maximals and Predacons under one group). Gearshift was turning people into animals (selfish headcanon is that Thundertron the pirate was one of those and that’s why he hates Cybertronians; look him up).

One day our little creep thought: "Hey, if I can make these street thugs all big and badass hunters, I want that too." So he got help from a few fellow surgeons and genetists to design a new frame based off a recessive gene they found inside him that stems from Arachnicons. After all, you gotta keep this frame compatible with the spark.

Once Shockblast got found out, everyone dispersed. Arthropod found a job as an upgrader for the gladiators in the pits and later became allied with the Decepticons. Also a selfish headcanon, he taught Shockwave genetics and the one-eyed weirdo decided to take the Animox research a step fruther and revive the Predacons. When the Insecticons came about (using Arthropod’s code with design the bugs), they couldn’t control them because insects work on a female heirarchy, not a male. ANOTHER selfish headcanon! Someone went out to find a willing volunteer compatible with the Arachnicon gene and they found Airachnid (I was thinking of changing her name as well before she went under surgery just to make things fun). Arthropod designed her to be a perfect hunter, even better than himself so she could handle the command of the Insecticons.

[This next bit happens AFTER the fanfic I linked above.]

The war went on, Arthropod moonwalked out the door flipping off Megatron as he went to go hide somewhere and killed for fun like he normally does. Cybertron died and he hopped a ship to take him wherever just so he could live. [On the planet, he became a sort of god to the natives and they gave him sacrifices, which he lived on.] It was just his bad luck he happened to be killing innocents on a planet that the Star Burners frequently visit and he got locked up in their brig. Now normally the Junkions like to smelt the robotic prisoners and turn them into weapons or statues or whatever, but Arthropod’s armor is thick (had to have protection in case an Animox went ballistic on him); it takes thirty minutes to melt off a gram and the Junkions, being impatient, didn’t want to deal with that so they just kept him in a cell.

Wondered what he looked like...
...I pictured something even creepier than this...Not sure if that's good or bad...

Probably because what he does is waaaay creepier than how he looks. If I could animate him I could capture it better.
And I guess in a darker light he'd look scarier too, but I need to show the details. This is actually quite an improvement from the last time I drew him.
