That is one elegant looking axe. It gives a subsaharan throwing knives vibe.

Besides it being an amazing drawing I like how the concept is so unexpected in many ways. The whole composition comes together really well.

That is a great axe, is it based on a real world tool?

And cool it looks! Johan Gehlen, Little Joe online, is learning 3D-sculpting. As an avid Dwarf fantast, he picked Kegiz Gavem to help flesh out designs for the Ethiopian Dwarf faction while getting to grips with the 3D-tools. His latest creation, of the simpler design kind, is based upon that great axe you designed in the artwork above: www.the-ninth-age.com/index.ph… & imgur.com/xgeajbG

He might add a hand to it and let people with 3D-printers download the file for free to convert their Dwarf miniatures.

I'll return here with updates whenever they happen.

Wow, a bold direction achieved to great effect! Most original design, with intricate patterns and very fine detailwork to boot. Lovely scars and armour ornaments and fang necklace, and vety finely drawn  fingers, mail, beard and lion's mane. Very good runes and braid epaulettes, too! I really like the curved axe!

This is a striking artwork, with a memorable impression. Great stuff, sir. You excell at your art!

If you would pardon me asking again, then would you by any chance be interested in drawing some further other oddball fantasy culture for T9A? We have Byzantine ratmen, Finnic Elves, Inca Dwarves, Moche Infernal Dwarves, Southeast Asian Dwarves, Ainu Dwarves and Indonesian Saurians (reptile-men), to name but a few. And Celtic Dwarves, Celtiberian Dwarves, Dacian Dwarves, ancient Germanic Dwarves and Hittite evil Dwarves. And even Pacific Islander Dwarves (Rapa Nui). As well as Zanzibar Dark Elves.

Would any of these fantasy race and historical culture marriages interest you, by any chance? Or perhaps some further exploration of themes you've already illustrated so masterfully already? Such as Nabatean Dwarf architecture, Inuit Dwarf ice caverns, Ethiopian Dwarf stelae or monumental rock-cut buildings (or even floating stone ships and stone golems!), or for that matter Norse Dwarf standard bearer (Vikings had characteristic banners)? Just asking in case you'd be itching for any other groundbreaking fantasy culture artwork. I've loved every part of your work so far, and your artworks have been very well liked over on the Ninth Age!

Just checking. In any case, keep on rockin' like the great artist you are!

Truly inspiring stuff.

I've shared your marvellous artwork here, and on a host of different fantasy hobby forums besides:

Besides, Doc J on Warhammer Empire have a question: "What kind of berries are they?  "

Coffee beans, I presume?

Wohoooo! I'll confess I did a little dance jig and had to suppress a shout of joy to not wake the neighbours up.

Looking forward to it! We're exploring brand new fantasy concepts in T9A, and you tackle them all with such deft skill. You're amazing!
