Something else that always confused me was that Elora was a faun (ie. goat/deer) but had more of a fox-like appearance. Which is why I made her tail shorter and scruffier before. But then I decided to design her parents. There are so many random species in the Spyro world and very few fan couples have both species the same. So I decided that maybe Elora was a hybrid too.

Caroline the Faun is the mother (get it? c: ) and she's half faun half satyr. Or she's a full faun but her Dad was a satyr which is where she gets her peach skin from rather than grey-blue skin that matches her legs. She's pretty cold or distant I guess and isn't that family oriented. She thinks the most important thing is her job and pours most of her time and effort into that rather than her husband and daughter. She figures that Elora is fine because she has her Dad, and her Dad is fine because he has Elora. She was born in Fracture Hills and works for the highest authority in Avalar, which is why she is so busy. Also I thought that maybe fauns typically wear their hair in plaits so I give her a big long one, and Elora some diddy ones.

Todd the Fox (kinda named after Fox and the Hound I guess, but it also refers to a young fox, or something like that) is Elora's dad. He's a 'red fox' haha and Elora's main caregiver. Probably baffled by his wife being so distant so he takes care of Elora happily enough. Um I dunno what else. He probably divorces her or something and takes Elora to raise by himself, since he pretty much did anyway.
